CALL TO ORDER- MOMENT OF MEDITATION

“The Town of Georgina recognizes and acknowledges that we are on lands originally used and occupied by the First Peoples of the Williams Treaties First Nations and other Indigenous Peoples, and on behalf of Mayor and Council, we would like to thank them for sharing this land.  We would also like to acknowledge the Chippewas of Georgina Island First Nation as our close neighbour and friend, one with which we strive to build a cooperative and respectful relationship.

We also recognize the unique relationship the Chippewas have with the lands and waters of this territory.  They are the water protectors and environmental stewards of these lands and we join them in these responsibilities.”

Adoption Of Reports Not Requiring Separate Discussion

Municipal Heritage Register Review – Implementation, File 05.269

Report No. DS-2026-0030

Recommendation(s):

1.   That Council receive Report No. DS-2026-0030 prepared by the Planning Policy Division, Development Services Department, dated April 22, 2026, concerning implementation of the Municipal Heritage Register Review.

2.   That bylaws be passed to designate the following properties as being of cultural heritage value or interest under the Ontario Heritage Act:

1. 98 High Street;
2. 12 Turner Street;
3. 31 River Street;
4. 117-119 High Street;
5. 132-134 High Street;
6. 25152 Warden Avenue; and
7. 180 Church Street

3.   a)  That the bylaw to designate 32 River Street as being of cultural  heritage value or interest under the Ontario Heritage Act be deferred  pending further discussions with the property owner in consultation with the Georgina Heritage Advisory Committee; or,

     b)  That staff be directed to issue a Notice of Withdrawal of Intent to Designate 32 River Street under the Ontario Heritage Act; or

     c)  That a bylaw be passed to designate 32 River Street as being of cultural heritage value or interest under the Ontario Heritage Act.

4.   That staff be directed to issue notices as required by the Ontario Heritage Act corresponding to the resolution of Council concerning Report No. DS-2026-0030.

Town of Georgina's Parks Master Plan

Report No. CSD-2026-0003

Recommendation(s):

1.That Council receive Report No. CSD-2026-0003 prepared by the Community Services Department and Operations and Infrastructure Department, dated April 22, 2026 regarding the Town of Georgina’s new Parks Master Plan (Attachment 1);

2.That Council receive and endorse the Parks Master Plan in principle; and

3.That the implementation of capital project and recommendations contained therein be subject to the annual business planning and budgetary approvals process.
