The Town of Georgina recognizes and acknowledges that we are on lands originally used and occupied by the First Peoples of the Williams Treaties First Nations and other Indigenous Peoples, and on behalf of the Mayor and Council, we would like to thank them for sharing this land. We would also like to acknowledge the Chippewas of Georgina Island First Nation as our close neighbour and friend, one with which we strive to build a cooperative and respectful relationship.


We also recognize the unique relationship the Chippewas have with the lands and waters of this territory. They are the water protectors and environmental stewards of these lands and we join them in these responsibilities.

Requesting appeal for Property Standards Order issued for "443 The Queensway South"

Chris Piersanti Manger for 2433264 Ontario Inc. States that he understands what the order is asking. Mr. Piersanti asks for a 2 month extension to rectify the following items on the order.   

Councillor Fellini states that Spring is almost over. Councillor Fellini asks when all the other items will be rectified.

Mr.Piersanti states that they have contractors lined up to rectify the other items. He just needs more time to fix everything. 

Councillor Neeson asks Mr.Piersanti to clarify that he is here to ask for an extension and not to appeal the order itself.

Mr.Piersanti states that the items on the order are reasonable requests and the company needs a bit more time of 2 months because of the long list.

Property Standards Officer, Tyler Nicholson reads his notes from the inspection conducted on August 21st, 2023 which he found 15 issues.

Councillor Neeson asks Officer Nicolson to state the items that have been dealt with. Five out of fifteen items have been complied with.

Councillor Fellini asks Officer Nicholson when the last inspection of the property was. Last inspection was May 7th, 2024 with the property manager.

Councillor Neeson and Dale ask Bylaw staff to clarify the decision they are allowed to make and how the procedure works.

The order for the Property Standards Appeal #23-3497 located at 443 The Queensway South has been confirmed in its entirety with an extension of 60 days from May 27th, 2024. 

Owner - 1446696 Ontario Inc., located at 93 Burke Street, Sutton.


Requesting appeal for Property Standards Order issued for "93 Burke Street".

Steve Babor part owner for 93 Burke Street. Mr. Babor explains the background of this property and what they have been trying to do with the property. They have been trying to make it commercial but have been having trouble with the MTO. They are now going to make it residential, but it is a work in progress. Mr. Babor states that the dwelling on the property isn't in great condition and are looking into demolishing the dwelling. Mr. Babor states that it would take more than 60 days for all of this to happen.

Councillor Neeson states there are a bunch of items in the order that could be dealt with prior to demolishing. Councillor Neeson asks Mr. Babor if he would be willing to get some of the items taking care of.

Mr. Babor states what they have taken care of so far. Also talks about what they can't get done before a demolition

Councillor Fellini and Councillor Dale make comments about the property.

Property Standards Officer, Tyler Nicholson reads his notes from the inspections conducted on September 7th, 2022 which he found 9 issues on the property.

Councillor Dale asks Officer Nicolson to state the items that are still outstanding.

Councillor Neeson asks bylaw staff if they have any objection regarding the time frame for this property to come into compliance. Councillor Neeson asks if any of the items on the order are regarding health and safety risks before a demolition permit is provided.

Officer Nicholson states no health and safety risk.

Councillor Neeson asks Mr. Babor what the time frame is that they need to have the order rectified.

The order for the Property Standards Appeal #22-3679 located at 93 Burke Street have been confirmed with an extension to the compliance date of 30 days from May 27, 2024 for the appellant to apply for a demolition permit. If the appellant makes an application to apply for a demolition permit within 30 days of May 27, 2024, the compliance date with be extended an additional 90 days to carry out such demolition
